The Cavalry engagement against Henry's force outside Therouanne would be a good one to refight using these.Stuarthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03255875998586936550noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6819465537498177551.post-67028206155333999632022-03-06T11:41:59.518-08:002022-03-06T11:41:59.518-08:00Thank you John - yes I think they may only get one...Thank you John - yes I think they may only get one round off, but it would certainly be devastating!Olihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06796318659076787601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6819465537498177551.post-53997509658935142272022-03-03T23:52:17.012-08:002022-03-03T23:52:17.012-08:00They look so formidable! Other than a refight of Ravenna it does seem difficult to imagine a game where lots would be fielded! I agree the 3 sets of barrels gun is definitely more on the experimental side but saying that the more standard ribauldequin style did have quite a long innings in late medieval, early renaissance warfare.Olihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06796318659076787601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6819465537498177551.post-31721452357546818162022-03-02T13:26:48.504-08:002022-03-02T13:26:48.504-08:00Thanks Peter - yes that is my thinking, especially...Thanks Peter - yes that is my thinking, especially having seen replicas of these things in my reenacting, they take a long time to load. They only seem practical as a one shot weapon, unless of course they are defending a position during a siegeOlihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06796318659076787601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6819465537498177551.post-54977032980055145942022-03-02T11:55:56.089-08:002022-03-02T11:55:56.089-08:00Im rather partial to organ guns and seem to have o...Im rather partial to organ guns and seem to have ore than I will ever use.Im certain you can still buy the Hinchliffe ones ad definitely bought one about a year ago.I recently bought a lovely one from E Bay which had a great crew with it. It was a 3D set, check them out. As for their role. Remember the renaissance was a time of experimentation in war and generals were always experimenting with new forms of mayhem hence the hiring of people like Da Vinci.Independentwargamesgrouphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07019172667119107650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6819465537498177551.post-85837544276058591772022-03-01T04:38:54.294-08:002022-03-01T04:38:54.294-08:00Great looking organ guns. Some of them must have taken an age to reload, so they may have been intended as one shot weapons.Peter Douglashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14118894381672707297noreply@blogger.com
